The Nate DiRuzza “Keep on Being You” Concert is a series of shows that provide positive enrichment and education for youth. Each show is an entertaining invitation to consider what it means to live authentically. Students engage on enlightening touchstones such as leadership, following your dreams, graduating, anti-bully, home life, social media, and much more!
Interlacing song and motivational speech, Nate performs for elementary, middle, and high schools with a specific program for each school. He inspires each audience to seek out a passion and follow their dreams without letting anything, or anyone stand in their way. Hoping to show them the importance of the journey toward your dreams, Nate highlights the necessity of perseverance and determination.
Nate reassures the youth that they are not alone on their journey, and that their dreams can be shared and joined with others. The simple act of reaching out to new people holds the potential to create everlasting friendships. He also talks about Rachel’s Challenge and encourages his audience members to initiate chain reactions of compassion, reminding them that by bonding together they can create a positive influence and reaction in the world.
At the heart of each show, Nate stresses the importance of learning to be yourself, even in the face of adversity. He encourages students to stand up and stand out. Over a quarter of students in grades 6-12 experience some degree of bullying (StopBullying.gov). With that in mind, Nate targets this impressionable audience with a powerful message: “Keep on being you”
Throughout the show students gain a new respect for their peers and for themselves. With this new understanding, Nate hopes they will pass on a more friendly and caring attitude in their school, home, and personal life. His own struggle with adversity and bullying, both as a child and as an adult has inspired him to extend a helping hand to those who need it. “If the show can reach just one child, then it was well worth it.”
What Others Are Saying
“Nate came to our school and performed in September, 2013. He really made an impact with our students with his music and message. He told stories that the kids truly related to and the music was awesome! We have already made plans to have him back next year!”
